There are many within the systematic discussion - and without - in practice Wicca Circles of magic and its ethical implications. During these discussions the question of white and black magic always comes out. For the uninitiated, it may appear that two completely different magical arts are addressed and that two completely different professional groups involved in their practice. In fact, it's a bit of a fallacy.
Consider a palette of paints containing oil. The painting on white is white, and although it contains all other colors, shows that none of the characteristics of other colors. The red painting on the mouth is simply a red primary. When painting a pair of lips, you can only use red or you can mix red paint on white paint to create a new color - pink - which has some features in red. If add more red than white, the color that will result in dark pink. If more white than red added, the resulting color is a light or pastel pink.
Magic, as white is neutral. To be neutral, it must contain both positive and negative without showing the characteristics of each. Performing magic is referred to the commitment with some universal elements and natural changes affect other parts universal and natural. There is also the intention of the man or the will.
The intention or human desire is like a color in the palette. You can never be neutral and subsequently used to disrupt the neutrality of the magic. If the intention is positive, neutral the magic happen from positive to that is, being positively charged. If the intention is negative, the magic will change the negative side and a negative charge.
Now, painting is painting. It is an act. The box will contain the color and shape. The color and shape are determined by the artist and can be pleasant and beautiful or ugly and offensive. Magic is magic. Contains natural neutral and universal elements. The result of the magic that reflect what the magician wants to achieve and can be positive or negative, constructive and destructive.
Positive and constructive magic, is commonly called white magic, negative and destructive magic, called Black Magick. If we are really pragmatic about it, all the Magic is white due to its neutrality, and there is no magic Black because black is not a color. The word choice is historic: it is possible that the term "Black Magic "has its origin in the Burning Times and" White Magic "in the neo-pagan movement of the previous century.
If these terms are semantically correct or not is an academic debate. The fact is that the practitioners of magic prefer to describe the way to go in this way. Towards the right hand that practitioners of White Magic and professionals make the right way Black Magick. This is the common case. Strictly speaking, this is not true either.
