The Georg Jensen name has always carried the mantle of money from the highest quality, made from more expensive techniques of production. Authentic silver Georg Jensen is also very difficult to find, because even in its heyday in the years 1930 - 1950 the number of silversmiths employed varied between 200 and 250. Today the company employs only 12. At one time, Jensen made 33 models of covers, of which 23 are no longer producing, and about 1200 hollow glass articles such as bowls, candlesticks, jugs, tea sets, plates, glasses, wine coolers, fish dishes and cutlery.
As jewels of Georg Jensen many pieces of jewelry were embellished with semiprecious stones like amber, amethyst, lapis lazuli, garnet, malachite, opal and quartz. Within a given model covered as the very popular "Acorn", Jensen created as many as 272 separate pieces including parts service, fish knives and forks, spoons, ice cream and a fascinating collection of artifacts and other utility items. Then comes in silver Georg Jensen Art Nouveau, Art Deco and modern styles, Georg Jensen himself was a follower of movemenet Art Nouveau. The reason for the signature grape, is part of their repertoire of forms in nature, including berries, leaves, and fauna combined with lightly hammered plain surfaces.
During the years before his death in 1935, Jensen hired a series of talented designers who were allowed to go their own way. The most noteworthy are Harald Nielsen (1892-1977), younger brother of his third wife, Johanne Jensen, Nielsen, Count Sigvard Bernadotte (1907-2002), the second son of King Gustav VI of Sweden, who was known for his classic geometric shapes like cylinders, spheres, and transmission elements, and (1918-1981 Henning Koppel), a modernist whose radical designs and ornaments biomorphic designs have become icons of their time and are in great demand. Because as Jensen's greatest talent may have been his ability to find and cultivate the talents of others.
